Proofs Have Arrived!

Hi Everyone!
We're super excited to be able to share that the physical proofs have arrived! They're not perfect, and we will be making some changes (more on that later), but they are absolutely stunning. Take a look!
Dust jacket lookin' fierce!
The Spine! Can you spot something missing?
We love gilded edges!
What's Being Changed...
So, there are a few things we're adjusting. Some of you may have spotted the first thing. We're not sure how or why, but these proofs arrived and were missing the Wraithmarked "W" on the spine. That's definitely getting fixed!
Next are the ribbon bookmarks. We're going to change the color to match the art a bit more closely.
Likewise, we're doing the same thing with the tailbands, which are the bits of fabric you see running along the top and bottom of the spine. The blue looks great, but we want this to match the art, too.
Once we get those changes locked in, we'll be able to get in line for the full print run! Stay tuned!
Remaining Surveys Going Out!

Hey there, everyone!
The smoke test over the last few days was successful so we'll be sending the remaining surveys out this afternoon. It may take a little bit for Backerkit to process them, so we appreciate your patience!
Just to reiterate a couple of the tips from our last update, if you don't see your invite email show up by the end of the day tomorrow, please take a look at the following:
Spam Folder: Survey emails can occasionally find their way to your spam folder. If you don't see anything come through from Backerkit check your spam folder first.
Apple ID EmailAddresses: If the email address tied to your Kickstarter account is a secure Apple ID address, the survey email may be blocked entirely. The email addresses look something like this: "[email protected]". If you're not seeing the email from Backerkit, check to see if your email address looks like one of these. If it does, we recommend that you first change that email in Kickstarter so you avoid any future issues.
Once you've checked both of those things send us a message here or send an email to [email protected] to let us know what your updated email address is.
Going Forward
Here is what you can expect in the coming months as we work on fulfilling this project.
First, please remember that we operate on a 12-14 month production and fulfillment schedule.
As we get all of the products made, you can expect to see an update from us at least twice a month. So stay tuned here for all the latest!
Once we have the products and are ready to start fulfillment, we will post an update and send an email giving everyone 48 hours to update their addresses if needed. Once that window closes, you will not be able to update your address yourself and will need to contact us directly to make those changes.
With addresses locked, we will start packing and shipping. This final step will take some time. We appreciate your patience. ❤️
First Batch of Surveys Going Out!

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for your patience as we sorted out those technical difficulties at the end of last week!
We're just about ready to start sending out surveys, but the last piece of that process is what's called a smoke test. To do this, we send out surveys to about 5% of backers to make sure everything in Backerkit is working as it should and that we haven't broken anything. We'll be conducting this test over the next 24-48 hours. If everything goes well, you can expect the rest of the surveys to go out by Wednesday at the latest!
While we do that, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
Spam Folder: Survey emails can occasionally find their way to your spam folder. Once we announce that all surveys have gone out, if you don't see anything come through from Backerkit check your spam folder first.
Apple ID Email Addresses: If the email address tied to your Kickstarter account is a secure Apple ID address, the survey email may be blocked entirely. The email addresses look something like this: "[email protected]".Again, once all surveys go out, if you're not seeing the email from Backerkit, check to see if your email looks like one of these. You can try contacting Kickstarter support to change that, though we've seen backers have mixed results.
If either of the above situations is the case, or you can't find your email invite at all, either message us here on Kickstarter or send an email to [email protected] to let us know and we'll get that straightened out for you.
IMPORTANT: Discrepancy in the Book Descriptions!

Hey guys! Important update for both those of you who already have AA1 and have backed AA2 due to a lapse in internal communication on our part, for which you have our apologies.
We had announced in the campaign of AA1 that the cases would be wrapped in cloth, with the art printed on said cloth. Due to an issue during our approval process, we did not realize that the case of AA1 ended up printed on high-quality paper instead, for which we are very sorry.
However, as it turns out… this may have been a happy accident.
A previous printer of ours (not our current printer) had gone to lengths to assure us that our detailed (and usually full-color) illustrations would print well on cloth. Unfortunately we carried this belief over when moving to our current printer and failed to verify with them if that was the case, and as it turns out those promises from the previous printer were (in our opinion) extremely overstated, which we discovered in our recent proofs of THE WAR OF THE WORLD.
Please take a look below at the comparison of what the art should have looked like versus what it does look like printed on cloth.
We are showing you this not only to highlight why our failure to verify that AA1 was bound in cloth may have been the best thing to happen to the deluxe edition, but also as reason behind our choice moving forward to move away from cloth printing on the majority of our other deluxe products in favor of high-quality paper (there will be some limited exceptions, like LEGENDS & LATTES, where the art works well on cloth). In the interest of transparency, we’d also like to acknowledge that this means slightly cheaper production costs for Wraithmarked, but not as much as you think. We’re talking about pennies cheaper at the quantities we are printing, not dollars.
Regardless, you have our apologies for 1) the lapse in noticing the printing issue with AA1, and 2) the failure to verify that cloth would work with these products, resulting in us moving away from cloth-binding in most of our projects moving forward.
If you have any questions, let us know in the comments below and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
